A lot of what we do in experience design is disrupt people’s ingrained opinions and habits…in a good way. The totally unexpected is a guaranteed way to get someone’s attention and is an excellent gateway for a brand to engage deeply – if done right. And it works in pretty much any scenario – whether we do it in the store aisle, on the device or at a trade show.
Which is the first thing that occurred to the team here at GPJ when this video got passed around today. A UK artist has created “living food” that “moves like a living organism” according to PSFK. It’s weirdly fascinating. Engrossing without being gross. And yes, a totally unexpected take on food and the dining experience.
