Zumba Party in Pink
With a customer base of over 15 million people, Zumba Fitness has grown beyond a fitness program—into a movement. And Zumba has used this momentum of enthusiasts in over 200,000 locations to also back charity programs. One of Zumba’s strongest partnerships is with the Susan G. Komen foundation, raising money for breast cancer research. For their global launch of the Party in Pink Zumbathon, they looked to GPJ to create a high-profile experience in the UK.
In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, GPJ and Zumba designed a three-day extravaganza for Zumba instructors and enthusiasts from around the world. This kicked off with The Party in Pink Zumbathon at Alexandra Palace attended by over 4,000 fans adorned all in pink.
The day of high energy and entertainment was lead by Zumba founder, Beto, who took the stage to blend red-hot international music with contagious dance steps in a giant fitness party. To the delight of Zumba fans in attendance, the fitness session later morphed into a concert performance by Wyclef Jean.
GPJ created a 360-degree stage, complete with lighting, audience and video, to ensure dancers didn’t miss a beat, using LED screens to combat the ambient light in the Palace.
The Zumbathon was a clear success, raising £130,000 for the breast cancer charities in the UK, and earning the GPJ team the highly coveted “best team possible” accolade.
